From Doug

The astute among you will notice this is a picture of a pie. This particular pie is sort of special, because, its the first pie I’ve ever made totally from scratch. I’ve made previous pies where I’ve rolled out the dough and made the filling, but I’ve now moved beyond that and have made my own pie dough. So, totally from scratch all the way. The batch I’ve made produces enough dough to make about 6 pies if they have open tops. So, I’ve got 5 more dough balls in the freezer waiting to be rolled out when wanted.

This is a Bluebarb pie, that being about 2/3’s blueberry and 1/3’d rhubarb. They go really well together. Thats the last of my rhubarb but I’ve still got some blueberries left so there could be straight blueberry in the future. My next pie will most likely be raisin. Easy to do and hard to screw up. Apple is not likely to happen as we can’t get good apples around here and I’d have to peel them. Blueberries don’t need to be peeled and I’m basically lazy. And yes, it tastes really good.

I had posted a link to the song ‘Long May You Run’ a few weeks ago. It was recorded and sounded just like the way Jane and I sound, basically fairly plain and simple. I’ve now tweaked it a bit which is my way of saying I snuck in a bit more harmony, because I tend to agree with Rosemary on matters like that. So, if you still have the link from last time, give it another listen. If not, go to the Doug & Jane music page on my web site and find it that way. Or, just click this link. It’s all so very convenient.

Long May You Run

Next week, possibly, another song for Sus to sing along to.
