If there is such a thing as ‘perfect’ rain, we’ve now had the pleasure of experiencing it. We had been having hot dry weather again and the forests were drying out, again. Then, on Tuesday evening a weather front moved in from the west and it started to rain. The rain was steady, not too hard, just nice and steady, and it was warm. That meant the rain could soak in much better than a cold rain would. The rain lasted all Tuesday evening and all that night and most of Wednesday. You could see the plants perking up. You could see the ground absorbing the water. It was good, very good. By Thursday the front had moved out and another hot dry spell had moved in. But, as far as I’m concerned, we had had the ‘perfect’ rain.

We’ve been able to ride to the gondola on the Harley whenever its not too cold (chilly mornings) and not rainy. The cool thing about that is we park on the sidewalk by the admin building and store our helmets in the back room of the lower retail outlet. Sort of like being VIP’s which is ok. The people there get a kick out of us old farts turning up on a motorcycle.

The kids had intended to come up this weekend but Ryan picked up Covid on the last tour so that won’t be happening. We had hoped to have the girls here a bit this summer but there always seems to be a reason or excuse for them not to come. I’ll leave it at that.
