pipes
part 2…..
You
know
how I said last week that the bike was running just fine
with
the OEM pipes back on, but perhaps a bit warmer? Well,
after a 2-up
ride to the Bay I’ve come to realize that it’s running
WAY hotter
than is good for it. It’s running as hot as it did
before the stage
1 upgrade was done. That’s not good as it’s in danger
doing
internal damage to itself. So, after getting back from
the Bay and
letting the Harley cool down I removed the OEM pipes and
put the
free-flowing LOUDER pipes back on. Didn’t want to do
that but
didn’t have much choice. It was nice riding with a less
loud
exhaust note but I’d hate to melt the engine and the
heat on my
legs was almost painful. So, back to the loud pipes. For
what it’s
worth, I’m getting pretty good at pulling off one set of
pipes and
installing another. The hardest part is getting back up
after laying
on the garage floor in order to do the work.
The
girls
this week.
The
girls
were here this week. This was the first time they’ve
been
here since March break. We did a meet-in-the-middle on
Tuesday when
we met up with Lauren and picked up the girls and Poppy
in the Bay.
They spent the rest of the day playing with the kid
across the
street.
Wednesday
was
up to the gondola where after coffee we walked the
trail.
Thursday and Friday were the same. They went home Friday
afternoon, a
day ahead of when we thought they were going but that’s
ok as they,
especially Kyra, are at that stage in life where they
are moody and
almost impossible to get off their iPads etc.
The
weather
is very hot and dry and BC continues to burn.

This
series
of ‘unpublished’ issues is my way of keeping track of
what
I’ve been up to during the summer when we are not
sending out the
normal Squamidian. No one knows about these issues but
that’s ok.
This also keeps the issue number in sync with the
passing weeks.
