Hi All,
Still having great summer weather here. The
nights are nice and cool. Finished up the job site I have been on for a couple
of weeks, building fish habitat, a 'beach' area and camp sites. Now I'm on the
site of a multi million dollar estate, another 'castle in the swamp'.
Sue got back from Swift Current on Thursday
and had Friday off. Ev and Ed got here Thursday evening after getting lost
about 3 times in Vancouver. They came up our street in a rented car with the
wipers running. Not raining out, Ed just couldn't figure out how to turn them
off. We took them up to Whistler today (Saturday) and showed them around. It's
funny how that place is so interesting to tourists.
I've planted 3 more blueberry bushes, and I
think I'll bet a few more. Getting greedy I think. We can still get them in the
stores so I'm eating them like crazy.
Had to replace the burner in our bbq. The
old one had a rust hole in it so when we use it, it was like cooking over a
blow torch. It could get the grill red hot in about 10 seconds.
The only time we take the dogs to Horton's
for a coffee and donut now is on the weekends. We have the worst Horton's in
Canada here. The service is bad and the product is terrible. They only have
raisin bran muffins about once a month. I had one this morning (Sunday) and it
was so bad I couldn't eat it. There was all sorts of strange things in it, and
only 2 resins. Yogi liked it just fine so it wasn't a total loss. However, you
can sit in the parking lot and watch the sun bounce off the mountain tops, very
relaxing.
It's fun watching tourists come in. You can
tell which ones slept in a tent. They are cold and cranky. They look like they
will fall asleep at the counter waiting forever to be served by the incompetent
counter people.
Ev and Ed seem to be having a good time.
They go out exploring and come back in laughing and talking away. When we took
them to Whistler, Ed spotted a sex accessories store. Ev told him that if he
could come back out and perform like he did when he was only 50, he could go in
and take all the time he wanted. They both laughed all the way down the street.
Very fun people.
Ed wants a monkey tree like our's. He
envisions the red squirrels jumping into it and getting impaled on the spikes.
He hates red squirrels.
Had a great jam session late night.
Warren's were down for a bbq etc.
