Hey All.

Just a short update as to how things are going here on the west coast. We are having a cool weekend with some showers. That's OK, nice and comfortable. Last week we set some heat records out here but it was just hot, not humid, not putrid. If you didn't have to work it was no  problem. Unfortunately, I have to work now. Having a job is a bummer. After a quarter century of self employment I'm finding working really cuts into the spare time. Good incentive to come up with a new business of some sort.

Sue is on the road about 3 weeks out of 4 so she is gone a lot. She's in the office this coming week. She will bus in and back. Might even work from home a day or so.

I commute to Whistler each day where the excavating company is. Whistler is a strange place. Aside from the ski mountains it has nothing going for it. The part that isn't mountain is swamp but for some reason rich people have decided that it's the place to be. There is more money there being spent on 'cottages' and condos than you can imagine. It almost seems to be a contest as to who can spend the most to impress their friends.

This subdivision we live in is quiet and comfortable. Very friendly. Very scenic. Very steep. You climb about 600 feet from the valley floor when you drive up to our place. Often in the mornings there are clouds floating by below us in the valley. They float in off the ocean, relaxed, laid back west coast clouds.

This morning we were sitting at Tim Horton's down in the valley (the worst Horton's in Canada) and we looked up through a hole in the clouds and saw sun lit trees on the mountain side. Very interesting to see trees when looking up through the clouds. Every thing out here is interesting and scenic.

The dogs are doing fine now. The move and that mange disease was very hard on them. Tracy is acting years younger now. She has no problem marching up and down the stairs, out into the back yard etc. She sleeps in our closet. Yogi has his own room, it has the old computer in it. I don't think he uses it but who knows. They both like going for walks, new smells, new dogs, all that stuff. Everyone here has dogs, they all get along. One thing you don't do is leave pets out at night. The cougars get them if you do. And the eagles can scoop up small pets if you don't have them leashed when walking down by the river.

Squamish is very small town and needs some major big box stores. You can get the things you need here but for Sue class shopping you have to go into Vancouver. Basically, it's a great place to live. Almost everyone here is from somewhere else, so we feel right at home. You can tell who is fairly new here by the fact that they still use their signal lights when turning in their cars.

There was no problem getting a family doctor and there is a modern hospital. This is one of those small towns where doctors etc choose to live so it works out well for everyone. Our vet here that has been treating the dogs phones to see how they are doing.

Been having lots of jam sessions with Warren. We are sounding pretty good together. Having a little trouble playing right now. Last weekend he rolled log over my baby finger. I was helping him load it onto his truck. I think it squished the cartilage in the end joint. Can't get it to straighten out now and hurts if I use for anything. Think he did in on purpose so he could play my mandolin. And he is getting darn good on it too. The jerk.

He has quite a reputation here as a wild wood artist. His name is known all over. You have to see his stuff, I can't describe it but it is beautiful. As are his carvings.

Anyway, we love it here. There are 4 bedrooms for any body that wants to drop in.
