                      We are still
                        dealing with no
or very little rain in our area. I don't remember a
                        summer so hot
and dry as this. Luckily the dryness started after most
                        of our crop
matured and with lots of watering from our springs our
                        garden has not
failed. The lawns are very brown except for the weeds.
                        It seems
weeds don't need water to grow and flourish. Every time
                        they promise
rain on the weather reports it misses us.

                      Our greenhouse is
                        doing very
well.....we are eating cucumbers like crazy. Soon we
                        will be putting
on the bubble wrap roof on the greenhouse. It will be
                        interesting to
see how that goes on. Many hands would be good to keep
                        it held down
until it is fastened. We will be looking for a very calm
                        day.

                      My brother Dennis
                        past away
last Friday and we are all so saddened. It was so hard
                        to talk with
him as his voice had gone and his wife knows little
                        English and has a
Mexican accent. Even though he lived so far away we will
                        miss him
                        every day.

                      Hello fellow
                        Squamidians. The
weather here has been absolutely amazing but we
                        definitely need rain.
Our hearts and prayers are with Tim and his family. Take
                        care and
                        stay safe everyone.

                      From Gale

                      When we docked in
Southhampton, we found the weather pleasant but cooler
                        than expected
and we needed our jackets. We were met by our friend Tad
                        who took us
to her lovely home in a small hamlet tucked away in the
                        rolling hills
of Sussex. The hamlet was originally a farm. The stone
                        barns were
converted into homes and the main house (a mansion
                        really) became a
very classy pub called "The Pig" (go figure !). Tad took
                        us
to various spots such as the cricket club in the
                        Madehfirst area of
Suffix. Our favourite spot was the town of Arundel with
                        its' massive
gardens, castle and old chapel. Tad had to go to Wales
                        so she gave
over her house to us for 3 nights. By the way, we had
                        never before
met Tad personally. From Tads, we took the scenic route
                        by train (4
actually) to Scotland. And that is for next week.

                      Well lets see,
                        we’ve had
some rain. That was good. We’ve had some cooler temps,
                        also good,
and we’ve had some hot temps that would be perfect for
                        mid summer
but not for mid September. So, I guess it all averages
                        out.

                      This Sunday is
                        going to be our
‘street concert’ as you probably recall. It will take
                        place in my
garage for various reasons. Firstly, the weather can
                        never be counted
on. Thats a given. In fact, Sunday’s forecast had been
                        for sunshine
up until mid week then all of a sudden it changed to
                        rain. Therefore
setting up my PA system and playing our music out side
                        on the street
would be problematic at best and more likely a big flop
                        because not
only would friends and neighbors not turn out, I
                        wouldn’t either.
I’m grumpy that way. As well, by setting up in our
                        garage I can set
up the day before, fiddle around with the setup and
                        leave it set up
until after our performances. With the garage door shut
                        everything is
secure. The PA system is out of sight and out of the
                        weather. As the
forecasted temperatures drops, our event is not really
                        very much
effected. We’ll be playing with the doors open but
                        inside the
garage will be dry and comfortable. We’ve got it all
                        figured out.

                      Prep is easy. Both
                        the truck
and the car are out on the parking spot and the Harley
                        is tucked into
a corner. We’ve swept out the garage and tidied up a
                        bit, turning
it into a nice little venue. I’m telling people that I’m
                        going to
a lot of work to make our music venue look like a
                        standard, ordinary,
residential garage as a way of setting the venue’s
                        ‘atmosphere’.
The attendees will all bring their own chairs to sit on
                        and it should
be a lot of fun. I’ll let you know how it went.

                      One of the songs we
                        will be
doing is a Merl Hagard song called ‘The Way I Am’. We
                        (Jane and
                        I) do it with 2-part harmony and it comes off very
                        nicely. However,
we have not recorded that song, or any song yet. I
                        however have done
a recording of it, the usual me and a bunch more of me.
                        I’ve got it
ready and uploaded for your listening pleasure. Just

put on some headphones, and give it a listen.
