                      We had a heat wave
                        and I for
one did not like it. It lasted for the better part of a
                        week and
several daily high temp records were broken. Squamish
                        hit 34C on
Tuesday. Night time lows were up in the high teens so
                        while it did
cool off at night, it took its time about it. Riding to
                        the gondola
each morning was comfortably cool but by mid morning on
                        our ride home
it was uncomfortably hot. The heat wave broke on Friday.
Unfortunately, there was no rain in the cooler front
                        that came
through and now the forests are very dried out. The snow
                        cover up in
the mountains is shrinking fast and thats not good.

                      Wednesday was a
                        very busy day
for us old farts who are used to being busy doing next
                        to nothing.
After our ride to and then back from said gondola, we
                        had a few
minutes to relax before a social worker type case worker
                        dropped by
to see how we are doing. Her main ‘topic’ was future
                        planning.
Very necessary but also very confusing and elaborate. We
                        now have
some forms to work through as well as a lot of stuff to
                        think about
and make decisions about. Then, there was the day
                        program at the 55
centre in the afternoon that I’ve got Sue into. Its
                        aimed at people
with cognitive issues. Most there are further gone that
                        she is but
anything that helps with keeping the brain and body
                        active is good.

                      Then, at 5:30 pm we
                        walked up
the street to George the dog’s house. Mell and Mark had
                        invited us
to dinner. (They don’t have A/C so it was quite hot in
                        their
house). Dinner was great. When we went to leave, Sue’s
                        shoes were
missing. At some point George had taken Sue’s shoes and
                        put them in
the back yard, same as he did the last time we were
                        there. Silly dog.
