                    Hey
                              There,
                    We
actually
had our first warm day of the year. Well, to be more
precise, our first warm half-day of the year. It was
                        supposed to be
sunny with temperatures up into the mid 20’s and it did
                        in fact
reach into the low 20’s but by early afternoon the sky
                        had become
overcast and by evening a chilly breeze was blowing. By
                        late evening
a cold front came through with howling winds and
                        sideways rain. So,
                        still no sign of spring.
                    We
did
however go through with our planned motorcycle picnic to
                        Porteau
Cove. ‘The Wife’ and I rode down to the Bay where we met
                        up with
5 other bikers and then rode back up to Porteau where we
                        had a nice
‘first group event’ of the season. It was also the first
                        time
I’ve lead a ride since before the pandemic hit. It felt
                        kind of
                        good.
                    As
the
picnic was winding up we could feel the change in the
                        weather as
the sky darkened and the air changed so we headed north,
                        they all
headed back to the city. We had been home for perhaps
                        half an hour
when the storm hit. The storm turned out to be the front
                        end of
                        another atmospheric river in the
long line of atmospheric rivers that have been pumping
                        onto the coast
since last fall. I assume the other riders all got to
                        their homes
                        just fine.
