Hi All,

I don’t know how to deal with this, I don’t know how to even think about it, but as many of you probably have heard, the gondola is down again. The cable was cut, just like last time. The crime took place about 4am last Monday. This time there was not just the cover of darkness but the added cover of the thick smoke that has been hanging in the air for a week so even with the new camera security system on each tower its not likely that they could actually see or identify anyone. Something that is different this time, at least from our perspective, is that we are now used to NOT going there. We had grieved our loss of the place last June after being told by the food and beverage manager that the lodge and deck were now HIS restaurant and that we were not welcome there. From conversations I’ve heard while out and about, many pass-holders have been given a cold shoulder and left feeling alienated. Upper management seems to have lost their vision, or has a new one that dismisses the local supporters as unnecessary, and since June there have been numerous employees and some mid management staff leave in disgust. Its all very heartbreaking and mind boggling. For now, the place is a crime scene again and there is very little information available. Thats all we know. If any new information comes along, I’ll pass it along to you guys. For now it’s just many questions and no answers. And like last time, we feel dreadful for the wonderful employees there who have again lost their jobs. The sadistic bastard that did this must have a cruel streak a mile long within him.

As mentioned, the dense smoke in the air would have helped to hide the person or persons. Its also hampering the investigation as they can’t even survey the scene by helicopter because nothing can fly under such conditions. The tower line must be hiked on foot by experienced mountain hikers using ropes and tackle. The smoke is from the fires in California, Oregon and Washington states. Its got us so socked in that on some days we can’t see the end of the street. Breathing is hard, throats are sore, eyes are burning and so on. Not nice at all. When the smoke reached this area we were having record breaking heat, the kind of heat that makes you stay indoors and out of the direct sunlight. Interestingly, even thought the temperature forecasts continued to call for heat, once the smoke had blanketed the coast thick enough, the temperatures dropped to way below normal. If the sun can’t get through, it can’t warm the ground. Basically a very small taste of what they call ‘nuclear winter’. I sure wouldn’t want to see a real one, the kind triggered by massive volcanic activity or astroid strikes etc. Sorry for the downer but thats the mood I seem to be in as I write this.

On a different note, my blueberry season is over. This was the most productive berry season I’ve ever had and I’ve sure eaten my share of them which has been very good for the old constitution. There are actually a few berries still on the bushes but I doubt if they will ripen this late in the season with no sunshine getting through and the nights getting colder. It was however a good run while it lasted. Now we should probably trim the plants way back and let them have a new start for next year.

OK, here I go again, embarrassing myself to the world in an attempt to add to the content and entertainment value of this letter. Oh well. This week’s musical interlude consists of two versions of the same song, the usual simple no-frills video version and an audio version with added harmonies and instrumentation. For whatever reason, I managed to find opportunity to do do both versions. Cool. This particular song is not my usual type of song, nor is it from the usual type of singer I might listen to. Its called ‘Wonderful Tonight’ and the original is by some guy named Eric Clapton. Its not that I’m trying to expand my musical interests or anything like that, it’s just that I heard this song somewhere and figured it might be a nice one to try doing, so I did and here’s the results.

Cover-up (Pt.2)

It’s Thursday, September 17th and I’m still holding the prescription for the ‘shot’ in my shoulder.

What happened at the clinic? – NOTHING – that’s what happened at the clinic! The ‘back-up’ doctor would not administer the injection based on the fact that I had a bad reaction to the ‘botched’ shot given by doc #1 back in April 8th 2017. Should I write to the Medical Association with my complaint?

I have a ‘witness’ who had driven me to the Kincardine Hospital on that infamous Saturday morning in April – had waited for hours for me to ‘have a simple and routine injection’ and, sensing something must have gone terribly wrong, came into Emerg and found me ‘still hooked-up’ to the many wires dangling from my bare chest. We both thought I must have experienced a heart attack as a result of the ‘injection that went wrong’!

Meanwhile, it’s back to ‘pain management’; here are some of the ‘over-the-counter’ meds. I’ve tried: Voltaren, Biofreeze, K.Y. Jelly, and That Stuff for Pain. None prove satisfactory, so in desperation I’m going to resort to some old stand-by home remedies such as; hand sanitizer, coleslaw salad dressing with extra-hot horseradish, freshly-picked and liberally pricked, plantain poultice, and chicken soup.

Will let you know which works best, or maybe you have some ‘home remedies’ of your own to suggest?

PS Men, it’s best if your wife applies the K.Y.

Your old Uncle Russ.

THE ONTARION REPORT

Hello everyone!

It’s that time of year again when we all start thinking of the next season coming on! Of course we’re just edging into Fall and the end of Summer is here. It’s nice to think of anticipating the beauty of the fall colours and still having weeks of mild weather. This is the perfect time to hop in the car and take a drive into the countryside to witness the changing of the leaves and get away from the humdrum of the city! We’ve all been cooped up for so long it’s difficult to imagine what it’s like to be free like we were before the Covid-19 disaster hit. They’re even showing commercials asking if people will in the near future remember the days when birthdays were celebrated with organized “Drive- Bys! During these trying times. What’s up with that? They’re acting like this is the end of the world! I doubt it will be but I guess one never can tell with Covid lasting up to several years world wide according to the latest predictions. I don’t know if any of you happened to read the report online that stated that a Chinese virologist who emigrated to the USA stated that she had to flee her home city in China after she stated in a public television interview that she knows and can prove that the Covid-19 virus was developed in a scientific lab next door to the “wet market” that got the blame for it in the first place! She was a scientist working on other viruses in the lab that were normal to her profession when her boss asked her to investigate the Covid virus that had been developed in another part of the lab. When she went to him with her results as to how dangerous the virus was and it’s disastrous potential, he immediately told her to stop what she was recording on her computer and forget what she had discovered! She stated that a week later the Chinese government officials invaded her office and removed her computer and it’s auxiliary hard drive and deleted everything she had been working on! She said that two days later, her boss came to her and warned her to stop coming to work and that he had gotten word that the government were looking for her to arrest her to prevent her telling anybody else about her findings!

She got so scared that she decided to flee to the USA to avoid being jailed or worse because of her findings. She is now living in California and is blowing the whistle to whomever will listen about her findings. She apparently escaped with concrete proof of her findings! Who knows if she’s really got proof of such happenings but she’s not the first person who even speculated that Chinese lab workers were behind this terrible virus! IF there is any proof of such a deed, I hope the heck that the lab that developed the virus and released it will have an antidote that they will release to the rest of the world before it kills off entire countries worldwide. What a diabolical nasty situation it would be and if so, what is their purpose? Are they hoping to gain control of the entire world by becoming the “Hero’s” and stating that they have “Found a cure” and aren’t they wonderful! It’s akin to the firefighter who goes around lighting fires so that when he and his crew members respond to the fires he can look like the hero and run in and save a life! It’s happened in real life, don’t ever kid yourself, there are such whack jobs in this world and not only here in the western world or in the movies of Hollywood! I can site you one real life example: There was a firebug lighting fires in the Conestoga area about 25 years ago and when they finally figured out who was lighting the fires, it was the son of the local Fire Chief who was on the volunteer department and had been lighting the fires so he could look like the hero when responding to the calls! I’m sure you can look that one up on line if you are in doubt of it’s authenticity!

That’s about all I have on my pea pickin’ little brain for this week folks! I hope you’re all well and staying safe these days! Thanks for tuning in and I’ll look forward to talking to you all again next week in The Ontarion Report!

Bye for now …. Greg

PS: Something To Think About

There was a jockey who said to his horse, “How many times do I have to beg you to win a race? To which the horse replied “awe Get off my back!”
