The Squamidian Report - Feb. 15/03

Hi All,

Sue was off to Edmonton this week. It always surprises me that she gets to where she is going and then makes it home again. She never seems to know what flight she is on or what time the flight is. I guess she's just so used to flying all over the place that she is comfortable to just walk into an airport and onto a plane. When I fly somewhere, I pack about a week ahead and then re-pack every tine I remember something I might need. She packs about 15 minutes after she should have left. I figure that's how she copes, by being so relaxed about the whole thing.

I've re-done my web site. After seeing what Ryan did with the one he put up for his studio and after seeing the impressive site that Clyde maintains I decided mine needed some sprucing up. My last attempt was done using PowerPoint. This time I'm giving MS Word a try. It works quite well as an HTML editor.

And while we are on the topic of web sites, cousin Sus and Peter in Nova Scotia have a site up now. Peter is running a sailing cruise business now using their sail boat. Check it out at http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/peterlatulippe/sunshine/index.html

As you can see, I'm scrapping the bottom of the barrel for stuff to babble about this week. There isn't whole lot happening around here. I'm glad I'm not back east. I've gotten rather soft this winter, with nice mild sunny days, green grass and blue skies. When I was young I loved it cold and blustery. Now I'm happy to watch it on the weather channel. But hey, we do get frost at night so there you go!!

We have kind of a funny thing happening once in a while. Old Tracy (14 yr old Schnauzer) has gotten rather feeble over the last year or so. We have found that she sleeps better at night in we cover her with a light blanket. As most of you know, dogs can't resist laying on laundry that’s on the floor and Yogi (150 lb Bevier) is no exception. Several times now he has spotted the blanket and laid down on it (with his teddy bear of course). I don't know if he doesn’t see Tracy of if he pretends that he doesn’t know she's there. However, you should hear the things she calls him when he does it. Even if I could interpret it, I couldn't print it here.

On a totally different 'note', Warren and I decided that we needed some new music material, at least new to us. There is a tune on a relatively unknown country CD that we both like so I began the difficult task of playing it over and over so I could scribble down the lyrics. When I got to a point where I figured I had enough scratch out on paper that I could type up the words I reached for the CD case to read the other song titles. The cover jacket fell out and open, displaying all the words to all the songs. Go figure.

Had to go into Vancouver today to pick up a dresser that Sue had ordered for the green bed room. I have no idea where she found the time to shop for one in the first place. You don't just sneak into Vancouver to shop when no one is looking. So we didn't just pick up the dresser, we had to drag me into about a zillion other stores. Don't know why, they all look the same to me.

Anyway, there is now a dresser in the main guest room that matches the little table things with the lamps on them.

Have a good one.
